The Estate

A stately villa from 1870 restored to its former glory

Villa Genua

Villa Genua was built around 1870 and over the years has been the proud property of a number of wealthy families, including the Count and Countess Mapelli Mozzi. In the past, this beautiful estate extended to the sea.

Horticulture, wine growing and olive growing were the main sources of income. In 2016, the vast estate still covered an area of 4.5 hectares. For two decades, nature had had free rein and both the villa and the estate were overgrown with weeds. Despite the decay, the atmosphere was magical, the bougainvillea beautiful and the view overwhelming; we were in love!

Now the villa has been beautifully renovated and we have equipped it with classic modern Italian furnishings. Here you can enjoy Italian life to the fullest. The surrounding estate offers plenty of space and nature is beautiful. We grow vegetables, fruits and herbs organically on our estate. This allows us to provide our guests with healthy products full of flavour directly from our own garden.
