BORDIGHERA, A STUNNING HISTORICAL JEWEL ON THE LIGURIAN COAST

Located just 15 kilometers from the border with France. This charming town, nestled between Sanremo and Nice, became the holiday hot spot for European elites in the 19th century, partly because of its pleasant climate and beautiful surroundings. Especially wealthy English visitors fell in love with picturesque Bordighera, turning it into a haven for prominent writers and artists, like Monet.

Inspired by the idyllic landscapes, he created some of his most famous works here.
Bordighera’s history is still evident in the elegant villas and palaces of the Belle Époque and neoclassical periods, which were typical of the era. English influences are especially noticeable in the refined architecture and luxurious gardens.

Bordighera consists of two parts: the picturesque Bordighera Alta, situated on a hill, forms the historical heart, while Bordighera Bassa stretches along the coast.
